Fossil Creek fed by Fossil Springs is on the west side of the Mogollon Rim
The Mogollon Rim of Arizona is a beautiful mountain oasis northeast of Phoenix. Situated southeast of Flagstaff it extends over 200 miles ending at the border of New Mexico forming the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau.
Several towns & communities call this amazing place home. Strawberry, Pine, Payson, Heber, Pindale & Show Low.
Coconino & Tonto National Forests are part of the Mogollon Rim. There is an abundant range of wildlife in this wilderness area. Elk are abundant and spotted often. There are also deer, javelina, wild turkey, mountain lion, black bear and over 200 species of birds including hawks & eagles.
The town of Heber on the southeast side of the Mogollon Rim is famous for UFO phenomenon & is featured in the movie Fire in The Sky. Portraying a logger purportedly abducted by a UFO then released near Heber.
Beautiful shots of the Rim country, I am from AZ but now live in Ca. My Dad always said he wanted his ashes sprinkled over the Rim. I have them and plan on doing so. Also happy to hear you corrected your pronounciation, "Mogeeon" silent ll.
