Dallas Project to Resurrect the Wooly Mammoth by 2028

Dallas could be the 1st home for the wooly mammoth in over 4,000 years. Considered by many as a de-extinction project by a Dallas-based company named Colossal Biosciences.

Colossal's chief animal officer Matt James states.
"we are creating technology that's going to change the tomorrow with de-extinction but what's amazing is that those technologies are making a difference to endangered species conservation today."

The Asian elephant and wooly mammoth are 99.6% gnomically similar. Using mammoth DNA found frozen in the arctic tundra to gene edit an Asian elephant genome until it becomes a wooly mammoth
