Jarbidge Wilderness Arguably The Most Remote in Lower 48

Barely situated in Nevada along the Idaho & Nevada boarder Jarbidge is arguably one of the most remote little dirt road towns in the lower 48.

55 miles from Wildhorse Reservoir this remote town sits in the second largest wilderness area of Nevada. Jarbidge Wilderness area is over 110,000 acres & is the least accessible wilderness areas in Nevada.

Shoshone Indian Tribe called the this wilderness Tsawhawbitts meaning Cannibal Giants warning pioneers & travelers to avoid this area as they do.

After the discovery of gold this area was settled then named Jarbidge.

No longer producing gold as it once did the small dirt road town of around 100 occupants dwindles to around 30 during winter.

Recreationalists such as fishermen, hunters, hikers, campers & ATV enthusiasts help keep this small town alive with their tourism.

 Wild, remote & beautiful.

Grand Mesa of Colorado is an Amazing Breath Taking Place

Colorado's Grand Mesa is one of the largest mesa's in the United Sates. Standing close to 11,000 feet in elevation. The alpine & aspen forests on this mesa contain over 300 lakes.

Some of these beautiful lakes are so close you can be fishing in one, turn around & walk a few dozen feet then be fishing in a different lake a couple of minutes later.

On a clear day from Lands End at the top of the mesa you can see for hundreds of miles in every direction. Observing Rocky National Monument on the Southwest side of Grand Junction or the Mountains surrounding Silverton to the Southeast.

The Grand Mesa is open year around. Hiking, mountain biking & fishing during the summer time. During the winter you can down hill ski, cross country ski, snow shoe or snowmobile.

Near Grand Junction Colorado this is a must see for outdoor enthusiasts or for those that enjoy nature & wildlife.
